The Museum of Art and Peace at Germantown Mennonite Church is directed by a volunteer committee of congregants who are arts professionals. Exhibitions change quarterly. There are several potential exhibition locations within the meetinghouse that can handle a variety of work from 2-D to 3-D. Other media will also be considered. (i.e. If you are an installation artist, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Our space and location within Philadelphia are historic and full of potential opportunities. The current limitations are budget and logistics.)
We actively accept proposals for exhibitions on a rolling basis. We prioritize the following:
1. Art about peace / peacemaking
2. Art dealing with themes of social justice
3. Art with Biblical/liturgical imagery/themes
4. Work by artists who identify as Mennonite or come from a Mennonite background
(Note: these criteria are not mutually exclusive. i.e. you don’t have to be Mennonite to submit to us a great show about peacemaking, or you could be a Mennonite artist who makes great work about…let’s say…animals! The main criteria are the quality of the work and its relevance to the priorities of the Museum of Art and Peace.)
PLEASE FOLLOW THESE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES!
1. Mail or drop off a CD with 10 images of your work. This should include media/size info for the works, your contact info, bio/resume, and optional artist statement.

2. E-mail us a link to your website where the above information will be found. PLEASE NO E-MAIL ATTACHMENTS. These will not be considered.
Note: please send images of work that is representative of what you would plan to exhibit if you were given a show.
We regret that we cannot return your materials. Each submission will be given our personal and thoughtful attention, however we are unable to respond to submissions unless we are interested in showing your work. Given that we are a volunteer organization, this process can take a while. It is not personal. Please do not call the church about art submissions. The church staff are not involved in the process and won’t be able to help you.
